• Check every number against the TPS and CTPS registers first, and skip any that are listed. These haven't been screened yet.
• Call from a number that shows. Say your name and Futures Connect straight away.
• If someone says no, or asks not to be called, set them to "Do not call" and leave them alone.
• Best times: 10am to 12pm and 4 to 5pm. Try each number up to three times on different days.
• Outside your area: if they ask where you are, be straight. Website and systems work is done remotely; quote travel separately for anything on site.
• Infrastructure leads: confirm our partner covers the area before offering on-site cabling. Backups, servers and systems can be scoped on a call first.
• For businesses already rebuilding, ask "Who's doing the new site?" before pitching. If someone is, offer what they're not covering (ordering, backups, IT for a new office).
• Log every call straight away so the rest of the team sees it.

"We've got someone for the website."

"Great, then it's a quick job for them. Shall I email the list so you can pass it on?"

"Not interested."

"Fair enough. Is that because the website isn't a priority, or because it's handled?" Ask once, then thank them.

"How much?"

"Websites start at £499 and we give a fixed quote before any work starts. Let me send the list first so I'm not guessing."

"All our work comes from word of mouth."

"Most good firms' work does. People who've been recommended still check the website before they ring."

"How did you get my number?"

"It's on your website." Offer to take them off the list, and do it.

A yes to "Can I email it over?" also means you can email a sole trader.
